Coach Eligibility

College Completion Coaches are designated as AmeriCorps members and must be eligible to serve as an AmeriCorps member. AmeriCorps members must possess an associate or bachelor’s degree, and ideally would have student experience on the campus where they will serve as a Completion Coach. AmeriCorps also requires that all members be a United States citizen, a national, or a legal permanent resident and at least 18 years of age. Members must be able to pass a background check. 

What You Need to Know

  • Living Stipend: $30,000
  • Transportation: Reliable transportation required
  • Housing: You must live in or near (within 45 minutes of) the community in which you are serving.
  • Education Award: $6,495. Possible eligibility for the forbearance of federal student loans.
  • Training: Coaches will receive mandatory training in college success and coaching strategies.
