Delesiya serves as an AmeriCorps VISTA, helping MCAN create partnerships with various organizations to create new college-going resources for students within those communities.

Prior to joining MCAN, Delesiya worked with the organization Girl Power in Miami. She planned a college tour, orchestrated workshops for girls ages of 11-18, and facilitated a weekly program. She helped create a COVID-19 resource guide for the organization and families, and also led a food distribution for students who were a part of Girl Power.

Delesiya earned a bachelor's degree in history and women's studies from the University of Michigan in 2019. Attending college was a way to ensure she did not get stuck in a negative cycle that she had witnessed many times before. She intends to return to college for a dual program to earn her J.D. and MSW in fall of 2021. Delesiya believes education is the way to achieve her life goals.

Outside of work with MCAN, Delesiya enjoys reading, listening to music, and traveling.
