Ho Chak Law

Data and Technology VISTA

As MCAN’s data and technology VISTA, Ho Chak supports a variety of data-driven initiatives, including the Impact Map and College Access Virtual Assistant. He also helps gather, analyze, and share data relevant to college access and success.

Prior to joining MCAN, Ho Chak taught humanities courses at the University of Hong Kong, the University of Michigan, and Hong Kong Baptist University. He has experience teaching college students of diverse backgrounds, and he has also engaged in curriculum design and academic advising.

A first-generation college graduate, Ho Chak has been heavily influenced by his parents' strong belief that knowledge empowers a person to achieve their life goals. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees at the University of Hong Kong before moving to the United States to pursue a doctoral degree at the University of Michigan. He was a beneficiary of need-based financial aid while completing his bachelor's degree, and is proud to have received several merit-based scholarships that fully supported the completion of his master’s and doctoral degrees.

Outside of work, Ho Chak is a long-distance runner who also enjoys reading books, watching movies, and attending live performances.
