Moisés Pérez Sánchez

MI ECHO Scholarship Intern
They/Him and El/Elle

As an intern for the MI ECHO scholarship program, Moisés assists with data collection and analysis, community outreach, partnership building, and other tasks.

Moisés attends Central Michigan University, where they were awarded the Multicultural Award of Distinction Scholarship. This scholarship provided Moisés with the opportunity to pursue postsecondary education while promoting and advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion within the university community. At CMU, Moisés is working towards a degree in public and nonprofit administration with a minor in event management. They are trying to take full advantage of the college experience by involving themselves in leadership opportunities and working towards graduating with a Certified Nonprofit Professional credential.

Moisés immigrated from Venezuela to the United States in 2011 with their mom, in search of a better future. As far back as they can remember, Moisés has felt an intrinsic drive to graduate from college and open new doors of opportunity for themself and their family. They are the first from their family to embark on the journey of postsecondary education in the United States. As an upcoming senior, Moisés is eager to make the most of their last year as an undergrad and prepare for future opportunities.

Outside of MCAN, Moisés loves to surround themselves with the people they love. They also enjoy spending time with their cat, playing video games, listening to music, exploring nature, trying to skateboard, eating good food, and taking care of themselves.
