For more than 20 years, Thrive Scholars has been providing high-achieving, low-income students from under-resourced communities the opportunities they need to thrive at top colleges and in meaningful careers, all at no cost to the students! Throughout their journey with Thrive, scholars will have their own college access manager, college success manager and individualized career coaching, so we can empower underrepresented students to achieve their full potential. In this webinar we will cover our mission, model, and impact. We'll also cover the application process for current 11th grade scholars. In the meantime, if you have identified students at your school that could be a good fit for our program, you can: 1) Share our flyer and website with your students. 2) Encourage students to attend a Thrive Info Session to learn more!

MCAN's virtual Innovation Labs provide an opportunity for dialogue among school counselors and other college access professionals in meetings that highlight emerging strategies positively affecting the college-going culture in their communities. In this MCAN Innovation Lab, we'll share the College in High School toolkit that was developed as a statewide resource to better share, explain, and customize your school's college-in-high school offerings such as AP/IB, Dual Enrollment, EMC, and CTE. All resources are customizable for use with students and families. Examples will be shared from districts throughout the state. We will give you access to the toolkit, answer any questions, and get your feedback. This is a great session for CTE coordinators, EMC coordinators, school leaders, and school counselors.

Cambridge International Programs Opportunities

Michigan Assured Admission Pact (MAAP)
The Michigan Assured Admission Pact aims to streamline the college admissions process, boost enrollment, and help students realize their full education potential. Participating MAAP universities assure admission to any Michigan high school graduate who has earned a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 or above (on a 4.0 scale). The goal of the MAAP is to reduce barriers to college enrollment by demystifying the admissions process and raising awareness about the uniform admission standards across all participating institutions. High school counselors and advisers should consider attending to learn more about the MAAP and how to fully harness the array of financial aid available for students.
Be FAFSA Ready: FAFSA Updates and Promising Practices Toward Completion
In this session, MCAN staff will cover updates regarding the 25-26 FAFSA and what you can do to be ready for the FAFSA opening on Dec. 1. This webinar will include Allison Jordan from Merrill Community Schools, who will share their promising practices for FAFSA completion from the last FAFSA cycle and how you can implement them at your school.
