As MCAN’s director of finance, Marilyn supports the organization by leading day-to-day finance operations. Her duties include managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting.

The majority of Marilyn's career has been in the nonprofit and governmental sectors. She strongly believes in working for organizations that lift others up. Marilyn has a genuine passion for accounting, and she enjoys working within organizations to help others develop an understanding of financial reports and help them achieve their goals.

Marilyn was the first member of her immediate family to attend college, and she is thankful for the support of teachers and friends who helped her navigate the college admission process. She attended Central Michigan University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration. After college graduation, she discovered a passion for accounting and made the decision to earn a second bachelor’s degree. She enrolled at Cameron University and took evening classes while working full time and raising a family. She credits the support of her family and friends with helping her through the process.

Outside of work, Marilyn enjoys spending time with her large, extended family, which is spread throughout Michigan and across the country. If she isn't with them, she is probably reading.
