Position Title: Part-Time Administrative Assistant (Contractor)
Reports To: Executive Director
Location: Pontiac, MI (Hybrid)
Compensation: $22–$28/ minimum of 20 hours per week with the possibility of working up to 29 hours based on need as determined by the Executive Director.
Contract Length: 12-month renewable
Summary:
The Pontiac Promise Zone Authority is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant to support its mission of expanding post-secondary access for Pontiac students. If you thrive in community-based, equity-centered environments and have strong organizational skills, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the Executive Director and Board, including scheduling, meeting preparation, and minute-taking as instructed by the Executive Director
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for contracts, reports, and correspondences
- Assist with data entry, tracking scholarship disbursements, and maintaining contact databases to maintain confidentiality and avoid violating FERPA guidelines
- Support communications, including drafting emails, newsletters, and social media content
- Coordinate logistics for community events, board meetings, and outreach activities as instructed by the Executive Director
- Assist in ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and program documentation
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of administrative experience (nonprofit/public sector preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and virtual meeting platforms
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication, organizational, and digital literacy skills
- Familiarity with Pontiac and surrounding communities is a plus
- High school diploma required; associate or higher preferred
