LANSING, Mich. — Michigan College Access Network congratulates the Journal of College Access (JCA) on achieving the significant milestone of 50,000 downloads of its published works. The peer-reviewed online academic journal was founded in 2014, and the growing number of downloads reaffirms the importance and relevance of the research being presented and highlights the nationwide interest in college access and success scholarship.
“In the last year, our number of downloads has grown exponentially compared to previous years,” said Christopher W. Tremblay, JCA co-founder and co-editor in chief. “More than 13,000 articles were downloaded in the last year, which represents 25 percent of our total downloads.”
Downloads are expected to top 100,000 in less than four years. JCA is affiliated with MCAN, the Center for Postsecondary Readiness and Success at American University and the Center for Equity and Postsecondary Attainment at San Diego State University. MCAN Chief of Staff Tyler Guenette serves on the journal’s editorial board.
“The Journal of College Access exemplifies our promise at MCAN to do the research and connect resources to provide Michigan students with a brighter future through college access and degree attainment,” said Ryan Fewins-Bliss, MCAN executive director. “We’re a proud partner of JCA and applaud its work to provide equitable access to postsecondary research and information.”
