As AmeriCorps program director, Trish oversees the AdviseMI and College Completion Corps programs, including ongoing training and professional development opportunities for service members, member recruitment, funder and partner relationships, and evaluations of program impact.
Trish has 13 years of experience working in higher education at Michigan State University, with an underlying focus on student success. Prior to joining MCAN, she served as director of the MSU College Advising Corps. Trish also previously served as the assistant director of student affairs within the College of Social Science, where she was part of a collaborative effort to develop a success program to assist students in alleviating academic and social barriers as they navigated their college journeys. Trish’s career also has included time as a complex director within the MSU Department of Residence Life and as an academic adviser within MSU’s College of Engineering.
At an early age, Trish set a goal to attend college because she recognized the opportunities a college degree would provide. As a first-generation student, her college journey was not easy. Trish earned a Bachelor of Science in Lyman Briggs biological sciences and a Master of Arts in student affairs administration from Michigan State University. She credits family, teachers, and student affairs professionals for believing in her and helping her navigate the complex higher education system.
Outside of MCAN, Trish enjoys watching college basketball, training for and competing in triathlons, and working on creative projects.
