As MCAN’s managing director of administration and human resources, Tricia is responsible for helping the organization run smoothly and supporting MCAN's team members and programs. This includes administering internal systems and processes, contract and grant management, and human resources.
Prior to joining MCAN, Tricia spent 13 years managing and eventually directing a sponsorship program that served children throughout 11 countries in Central America and the Caribbean. During that span, she also worked four years as a project manager for development efforts in El Salvador. In these roles, she became skilled in assessment, development, implementation, evaluation, and reporting for a variety of projects and programs. In her leadership roles, she was able to focus on systems and structure to maximize efficiency as well as impact and outcomes. Tricia's broad experience, paired with a passion for teamwork, make her a natural fit for her role at MCAN.
Tricia attended Saginaw Valley State University, where she earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in sociology and Spanish. After several years of work, she returned to school and earned a Master of Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University. Tricia credits a full-ride scholarship for putting her on the path to a college education, but a study abroad program changed her life trajectory and perspective. She credits staff and faculty at SVSU for being flexible, supportive, and encouraging her educational pursuits and love for international travel.
Tricia and her husband have three children. She loves to be active and spend time outdoors. Tricia is also an aspiring foodie who enjoys exploring new places and experiences.
